Love and sex are mighty forces. Sexual vigor and response, as well as love and compassion, are components of an ideal life. The quest to find an enduring love has been a motivating factor behind the perpetuation of life. The quest for a pure and perfect substance, which stimulates the senses, is the search for an aphrodisiac. These quests rest in a belief that there is a substance in nature that is so pure and perfect that it can convert earthly bodies into perfection.
